Proverbs 31 gives us the perfect depiction of the characteristics we should possess in order to be a true woman of God. They are as follow:

EARLY RISER & WELL DRESSED

God calls us to wake up before dawn and prepare for the day. We are to be purposeful with our time and should start each day in prayer and/or meditation. God asks us to not be consumed by our looks, but he would like for us to be well dressed. The idea is to treat ourselves like we are valuable, which we are! It is our duty to love on ourselves internally and externally.

VIRTUE & FAITHFULNESS

Women are precious and worthwhile. God desires for us to be virtuous and capable. We are called to speak the truth and earn the trust of others. We are to be faithful and enrich not only our lives, but the people around us as well.

PROVIDER & BUSINESS SAVVY

Women also should provide for the basic needs of their family as well as keep them safe. The Lord designed us to be hard workers by earning an income and encourages us to take advantage of business opportunities that may cross our path within the American society.

STRENGTH & ENDURANCE

God made woman to never be lazy and always wants us to improve ourselves. He also wants us to strive to be strong. This can be physical, mental, and spiritual strength. We are called to do these things with optimism and energy. Not only that, we are called to endure during hard times while simultaneously trust God's plan for our lives.

WELL ROUNDED & CHARITABLE

Women should be well rounded and develop a plethora of skills, which in turn can help with making provisions for ourselves and our families. We are to assist the poor and less fortunate. We are also expected to love our neighbors and this calls us to love those in need by welcoming them with open arms without judgement.

HONORABLE & WISE

We are to fear nothing but God. He is the only one we should fear and we are told to live in a way that honors God. We are also expected to be honorable and carry ourselves as graceful women. In addition we are to laugh, not worry and be happy. Lastly, phenomenal women think before they speak and always do so with kindness.

WIFE TO A GOOD HUSBAND

God tells us to marry a man who is a good husband and a good leader. God calls us to marry a man with the same faith as ourselves. Someone who loves God will definitely be a good husband and leader for us and our family.

HOW TO APPLY PROVERBS 31 TO YOUR LIFE

Obviously, this is a lot to take in. We are not perfect, nor does God expect us to be. Becoming a Proverbs 31 woman means working hard to become a woman who honors God. To simplify this even more, here is a list of things to try to do daily/weekly/monthly that helps women become closer to God.

Wake up early and start the day with God (PRAY).

Remember that you are worthy of God's grace.

Be truthful and faithful.

Love others, be good to others and pray for others.

Work hard in everything you do.

Enrich your life with knowledge and understanding.

Become well rounded in your skills.

Take advantage of opportunities in business, helping others, and caring for others.

Be strong and endure hard times.

Put your faith in God to help you when you feel lost.

Love and honor yourself; dress well, exercise, behave well.

Find a husband who shares your values and love of God.

Fear God and honor him in all things.
